Colin McCallum

Colin McCallum joined GCU in early 2007 as the first Vice President of the GCU Foundation and Director of Development to establish this new service following a number of years as Chief Executive of leading strategic management consulting firm, Grenzebach Glier Europe.
During this time he provided advice and support to a number of universities, cultural organisations and charities across the UK and Europe. This experience built on a career spanning almost 20 years during which he held the post of Director of Marketing and Development at the National Museums of Scotland. Prior to this he led the first fundraising campaign at Strathclyde University (which won Gold in the UK Professional Fundraising Awards), the launch of a centenary programme at St Hilda’s College Oxford and a period as Alumni Relations Officer at the University of Edinburgh. Colin’s career began in publishing in The Netherlands.
Robert Fleming

Prior to joining GCU, Robert was a fundraising consultant with GG+A Europe, which included work with the University of Bristol, University of Warwick and Save the Children UK. He was previously the Director of Development and Alumni at The University of Edinburgh, and from 2000 until 2005 was Director of Development for Trinity College of Music, London, where he led a number of major capital projects, including a £17 million relocation to the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. Earlier in his career, Robert held roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company (as Head of Sponsorship Development), and the City of London Festival, and he continues his interest in the arts as a member of the Board of Scottish Ensemble.

Ann joins the Development & Alumni Relations team from her previous employment with Strathclyde University. As PA to Colin McCallum, her duties include office organisation and involvement in event management.
Nazhat Ahmed
Grameen Caledonian Programme Co-ordinator

The Yunus Chair is a key element of the Grameen Caledonian Programme and Nazhat Ahmed recently joined the university as the co-ordinator for this programme.
Nazhat said: "I am very excited to join the Development and Alumni Relations team as the new co-ordinator for this programme. I am looking forward to working with staff at GCU and Grameen in developing this partnership and exploring the benefits that it will bring to the university as well as Glasgow, Scotland and Bangladesh."
Alumni Relations & Annual Giving Team
Jillian, Hannah and Adelle are here to ensure you are offered useful services and exciting opportunities so you stay in touch with the University and play a part in our future, as well as our past. They also run the annual giving fund that raises money from alumni and friends of the University to enhance the student experience at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Jillian is an alumnus of the University and graduated in the year 2000 with a BA(Hons) in Business & Information Management.
Jillian previously worked as the Head of Audience & Business Development for The Lighthouse, Scotland's Centre for Architecture & Design.
Jillian says, "Joining GCU as Development Officer l hope that my work within the Development & Alumni team will help to re-engage alumni with the University, to build lasting relationships and support that will ultimately provide an outstanding university experience for both our current and future students. A former graduate myself, l am truly inspired by how quickly the University has grown and developed and how much it lives its mission of being 'for the common weal' through some truly innovative initiatives such as the Caledonian Club."
Hannah Wardle
Development Officer
Hannah Wardle re-joins Glasgow Caledonian University having spent six years as Development Manager at The Glasgow School of Art. At GSA she helped deliver the £9 million Mackintosh Conservation & Access Project and latterly focussed on fundraising for Scholarships and securing corporate sponsorship for the institution.
Having formerly been involved with fundraising for the Saltire Centre at GCU, Hannah is now keen to engage with supporters who share her interest in widening access to Higher Education and creating scholarships to enable talented individuals to pursue their ambitions at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Adelle Hopkins

Adelle is an alumnus of the University having graduated with a BA in Communication & Mass Media and an MA in Multimedia Journalism.
Between those courses, Adelle remained at GCU, working as Societies & Volunteering Co-ordinator at the Students’ Association. There her main duties included encouraging the start-up of new societies, supporting existing societies, launching the University radio station (Radio Caley), organising events and training and managing volunteers.
Now Adelle is responsible for encouraging GCU graduates to become involved with the University once more, through the alumni magazine (Caledonian Plus), e-newsletters and social media. She also helps organise alumni events and is the first point of contact for any alumni queries.

David’s role is to provide a seamless process of prospect identification and stewardship for the director of D&AR. Before joining GCU he worked in the Development Team at Robert Gordon University as Information Officer - this involved management of the alumni and fundraising systems. He has a BA (Hons) in Applied Music from Strathclyde and a PG (Dip) from RGU in Electronic Information Management.
